Emerging from the murky rice fields this Yokai is one of nightmares although it isn’t meant to be. This will probably be the creepiest one I do so I promise tomorrow’s will be more fun. Have a great day and I will see you on the next page….
Happy Father’s Day to all those fortunate enough to be a dad! Today I wish a frat father’s day to my brother and my dad and here are the images I did for them for this special day. First up is for my brother…
See you on the next page my friends and have a wonderful day!
So to continue on with the yokai exploration today I am sharing the mystical Nekomata. He’s a mischievous humanistic cat that tends to start mysterious fires and brings trouble to those other comes in contact with.
To give a little bonus alien fun today I figured this Alien author should every once in a while do a pic that should brighten your day. So I will see you on the next page and just remember….
Today is Wonder Woman Day and as promised I am going to show a little from the two shows I am in and the great people that attended, artists and fans alike.
First up is Barnes and Noble at South Plains Mall. Those of you that have been following me for years may recall I used to be a featured artist for Starbucks so it is interesting that almost 5 years later I would be showing with one of their partners.
The response is already really great. So now for the show at Star Books and Comics Downtown!
It was an amazing show. A good portion of the images were taken by the talented Rony Dixon and the show was created, organized, and run by Raicodoll. Check them out here Rony and Raicodoll. You can also check out there amazing coverage of the show and all the artwork from it by visiting the shows album HERE!!!!
Thank you again everyone for being amazing fans and friends. I will see you on the next page….
Not everyday do we eat, breathe, and sleep the same old same. Today instead of sharing the expected Meteors ‘n Milk thing I wanted to share what I did today. I was asked to assist in doing a workshop of Plein Air painting at Lubbock’s Ranching and Heritage Center. Tons of local area teachers of all levels from elementary to high-school came together for this wonderful experience to paint outside. I did little demos and gave technique ideas and engaged in some incredible conversation. So here is a quick little study I did showing some various methods and techniques.
It was such a blast with such amazing, creative, and inspiring teachers that I met. It was over way too quickly and I wish I had more time to talk longer and meet more. I was also fortunate enough to have Texas Tech Visual Studies sponsor the distribution of my guide to 1 point perspective to all the participating teachers. It was met with great thanks and I couldn’t be happier.
Tomorrow I promise I will reveal my Wonder Woman piece and give more details on that then. So I will see you on the next page my friends….
First off i wanted to share how amazing the Pokémon Go Art Drop was. I got to see so many exvited faces light up and see people of all walks of live coming together for this nerdy passion. I say that because clearly I was more than a little into it. So here is a little collage from the day. Also….
Lubbock Con is this coming Saturday and I am running all cylinders to make this the biggest one yet. Beyond the four books I will have, with their much anticipated release, I will also have the long requested stickers. I am extremely looking forward to the event and can’t wait to see all the new and old friends and fans. The stickers will be of the logo you all love below so make sure you come and see me. I will start posting daily again for a while so make sure to come back tomorrow. See you on the next page everyone…
First and foremost I am going to address this hiatus you just experienced. Between classes, teaching, finals from both sides, con in a week, a partnership I will announce later, having a bed ridden case of Strep, and a poke drop event I have been far from the posts and image creation lately but not anymore. We are returning to regular posting so count on it. At this point a number of you local fans are caught up on the… wait…. poké drop?
Tomorrow brings the event back to lubbock so head over to event post on Facebook! Here’s the link:
Make sure you follow the rules and be share to share with your friends. The one rule that I strongly ask above all others that you don’t catch them all. Remember that little kids are hunting for these so don’t be the selfish one that snags them all preventing others from enjoying the event. If there is an image you really want from me you can always email me at firstname.lastname@example.org I also have one other request if you find me piece. Please take a picture that you found it *preferably with you holding it and email me the pic or post it/ send it on facebook. Other than that happy hunting poké fans!
Alright guys so I know I have been fairly quiet the last couple weeks. It has been a very busy time with classes I take, classes I teach, books to print and planning for some big events and more. A lot is going on and you won’t want to miss it so stick with me. For today I wanted to share that Mooving the Pencil, my perspective comic, is now in hand! Come back tomorrow to find out how you can get your hands on one. Till then here is the pics and all that jazz and I will see you on the next page…
I think I am going to need a new shelf for my work soon…
I am excited to say that the first batch of Advent of the Archetypes is here!! Keep posted as I will very soon be talking about digital copies that will be much more accessible than before. I will have physical copies at Lubbock Con but if you can’t wait don’t hesitate to contact me at email@example.com to purchase a physical copy. I am also working on bringing you a store front shortly so be on the look out for that. Have a great start to your weekend everyone and I will see you on the next page…
Sometimes the spirits of the forest are what we need to remind us of all the beauty and curiosity that nature brings us. These beings from the outstanding Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) are guides that I would follow any day. The soft, inocent, childlike personification of nature couldn’t do more to bring a heart warming smile. I am a huge cliche Studio Ghibli fanatic so these guys were a necessary for me to draw at some point. See you on the net page my friends…
Today’s garden variety friend is this cute little lady bug. He loves his look but is quite shy around strangers. He loves the new sprouts though as he images the beautiful things they will grow up to be. Beauty comes in all shapes and forms so whose to say he can’t be proud to be beautiful if he wants to be? See you on the next page my beautiful friends…
