Tanuki is one of the most famous Yokai along side Kappa and Kitsune. This mischievous Yokai emerges from a dwindling forest environment to pull pranks on humans. Most commonly the deception is an ability to transform themselves or inanimate objects. This ability enables them to pass off leaves as money or stones as gold. Quite the little con artists.
